Mini-Storage Messenger Overall Winner — The year's most exceptional self-storage facility. Selection will be based on excellent design, construction, challenges overcome during building, appearance, landscaping, occupancy and performance, security, access features, marketing, and customer service.
New Facility Winner — The year's most outstanding new self-storage facility. Selection will be based on site selection, design, use of land, overall appearance, aesthetics, marketing prior to opening, lease-up performance, and occupancy rate. (Facility must have opened for business on or after June 1, 2010.)
Construction Winner — The year's most notable self-storage facility construction. Selection will be based on construction difficulties, challenges overcome during building, unique design, and use of cutting-edge building materials or techniques.
Conversion Winner — The year's most innovative self-storage facility converted from a pre-existing structure. Selection will be based on challenges overcome during building, exceptional design concept, uniqueness, and performance.
Specialty Storage Winner — The year’s most outstanding self-storage facility dedicated to a specialty use such as wine storage, RV and boat storage, etc. Selection will be based on the site selection, unique design as related to specialty use, challenges overcome during development, features and amenities related to specialty use, marketing, security, customer service, and occupancy.
International Winner — The year's most exceptional self-storage facility located outside of the United States. Selection will be based on excellent design, construction, challenges overcome during building, appearance, landscaping, occupancy and performance, security, access features, marketing, and customer service.
